Just as we expected at around 5 to 6 months of age our first new flock of hens have started to lay beautiful eggs. They are always small when they just get started and that is a good thing because large eggs for newly laying hens can cause problems. Until the eggs reach full size we will sell them at a discounted price but we expect the eggs to be large fairly soon. We have ordered our eggs seals from the Washington department of agriculture, which will allow us to sell our farm fresh eggs at markets, though we can sell eggs straight from the farm already.
